Site-ul respectiv are o aplicatie online in care poate oricine sa combine diferite fețe.

Hi! I run faceresearch.org and just wanted to definitively clear up some misconceptions about these images. The images were made using the online face averager that is available at my website, but we didn’t make the images and are not involved in this project in any way. I emailed the creator of these images (http://pmsol3.wordpress.com/) a few days ago and this is what he said about them:

“I do not use any models or actors, because that is just too bias – unless otherwise indicated. If you can see my pictures online you can see most of the people are very average in appearance. I find pictures from friends, but mostly online. I use Google Image. I will look up the top 10-20 last names of that nationality/ethnicity and search that name and the country. Then I just look through hundreds and even thousands of images until I get 15-20.”

If you’re interested in the computer-graphic techniques that are used to make these composite images (it’s now more sophisticated than Galton’s method), we have an explanation on our website: http://www.faceresearch.org/tech/

If you’re interested in the science behind how we perceive average faces (average faces tend to be very attractive, but the most attractive faces aren’t always the most average), see our student’s section: http://www.faceresearch.org/students/contents.php

I agree that the images above are very biases towards young women. I hope to start a project soon that collects images from around the world and from people of many ages so we can see the whole diversity of the human face. This is what my website is about – trying to understand how and why we make so many important judgments about people from their facial appearance.

I just want to caution anyone who would like to critique this research programme (which does not use taxpayer’s money – I work on the website in my spare time as a university lecturer) to not commit the Naturalistic Fallacy. While we study facets of appearance-based prejudice, such as why women with feminine faces are also perceived as more trustworthy, studying a phenomenon is not the same as condoning it. However, I do welcome constructive criticism about how to make the site more accessible to all people and how to address topics that are important to people.

    Kind regards,
    Lisa DeBruine
